My Make Your Site Sell Review

Review By Robert B.

Make Your Site Sell
By Ken Evoy
PDF E-Book, 495 pages
Copyright SiteSell 2002.

The first thing I must admit before you read this Make Your Site Sell review is that this was the first book on internet marketing that I read and it is BY FAR, among the best. Keep on reading to find out why.

This ebook by Ken Evoy is his first "stab" at internet marketing, and boy did he get it right, well for the most part at least. Ken is a physician who formerly practiced emergency medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. But not just any doctor can write a guide to internet marketing. In his earlier days of business, Ken and his wife developed toys and games which have since been sold to other companies, but made millions of dollars in royalties for them. Later Ken developed a piece of software to help with bidding on penny stocks called "PennyGold," in which he restricted sales to only 1,000 copies. As demand rose for his product, Ken was able to raise the price of it by hundreds.

The only missing puzzle in this picture is how did Ken persuade people to purchase his valuable software for hundreds of dollars? Ken teaches YOU the techniques that he used in his first ebook "Make Your Site Sell."

What is a Make Your Site Sell review if the key points and information of the book are not discussed?

First, Make Your Site Sell DOESN'T offer any type of get rich quick scheme, amazing formula, or ways to trick the search engines. Ken stays away from these time wasting techniques and concentrates on what will help you in the long run.

Here is what Make Your Site Sell offers:

  • Product Development and Selecting a Niche - If you want to sell something on the internet you can't sell everything! Simply put, Ken discusses selecting a niche to develop a product in and even discusses some great products that sell good on the web. Make Your Site Sell also outlines how to price your product so that you can maximize your profit and sales.

  • What is your Most Wanted Response, "MWR" - Your site sells widgets, so what do you want your visitors to do? Buy widgets of course, that's your MWR. Too many people get distracted from their MWR. They try to create a visual appealing site and add in pointless information, when they should be concentrating on how to increase sales of their product. Make Your Site Sell outlines various strategies to determine your MWR for your visitors.

  • What is your Conversion Ratio, "CR" - Did you know that, on average, less than 1% of site visitors actually purchase something? That simple number is why MOST internet businesses fail. Ken is a scientist at heart and can talk numbers all day. Make Your Site Sell does discuss CR's, how to maximize your CR high above the average, without discussing complex mathematical formulas. It gives straight sound advice on how to convince your visitors to buy!

  • How to generate traffic - Now you can't sell anything without generating traffic, regardless of your MWR and CR. A CR of 4% is great but if your only getting 100 visitors a month then what's the point? There has been a ton on information written on traffic generating techniques. Make Your Site Sell concentrates discussing the strategies that work, but also discusses strategies that DON't work, so you can avoid those pitfalls that waste your time and money.

My Make Your Site Sell Review - Negatives

Ken primarily discusses how to sell one product, not a catalog of many. But this is where Ken draws his experience from, selling a single product, his PennyGold software. But the solution is to apply the strategies to each product: on each page concentrate on a single product, don't try to sell everything at once. Offering your visitors too many alternatives is the easiest way to give your visitors a case of information overload, they won't know which thing to buy.

My Make Your Site Sell Review - Positives

To summarize my Make Your Site Sell review, it is a great, easy read. It's over 400 pages, jam-packed of useful information, illustrations, and pictures. Ken discusses all of the major "keys" in how to generate a website that SELLS and helps you to squeeze every drop of profit out of your site. Make Your Site Sell is under $30, so if you use the techniques it outlines, you should easily make your money back even if you make only one additional sale. Now multiple that times months and years, and you can see that this ebook is worth every last penny.

Now that I've read it I would have paid over 10x's the list price for it. I go back and review Make Your Site Sell every so often and I always find new gems of information that I can implement. So what are you still doing here after reading my Make Your Site Sell review? Go learn more about Make Your Site Sell, you can even download a chapter for free.
